Roberto Cavalli, the Italian fashion designer known for his wild prints and even wilder partying habits, is launching a new
“During these first 40 years, I followed the dream of beauty. I created perfumes that applaud female sensuality and give women the possibility to wear a dream,” Cavalli told Women’s Wear Daily.
"Anniversary" is a fruity floral eau de parfum that will be available in three sizes — 30-ml., 50-ml. and 100-ml. According to Women’s Wear Daily, “the iridescent scent’s bottles bear Cavalli’s iconic serpent complimented by a silver metal Art Deco-inspired cap. The gold packaging is emblazoned with the number 40 in silver.”
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen serves as the face for Cavalli’s Fall/Winter 2010/11 campaign, which also celebrates Cavalli’s 40 years of building his brand. The ads were photographed by famed photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
In addition to celebrating his long run in business, Cavalli has also recently revealed that he will be dressing singer/super star Shakira for the World Cup final. The pop star will sparkle in a special Roberto Cavalli outfit while she performs the closing ceremony of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The outfit is rumored to feature a silk-fringed skirt covered in pink flowers and ethnic prints, while the top is said to be embroidered with multi-colored pearls and accessorized with leather bracelets decorated with floral-print silk.
Shakira will perform her latest hit, “Waka Waka- This Time For Africa,” also the official anthem of the World Cup event. This will mark the third time Cavalli has dressed Shakira for the event.
