While the American market is seeing the release of the new So Elixir Eau de Parfum by Yves Rocher (now $30 introductory offer instead of $58) this April 2010, which was initially introduced in Europe last year, the European market will once more be ahead of the So-Elixir game and welcome the latest variation on the perfume, the So Elixir Eau de Toilette which will be launched in the US and Canada only in 2011.
In Europe, So Elixir Eau de Toilette launches with the tag lines "So feminine," and "Glamor, always." The scent is described as offering a more dazzling freshness, a less opulent floral heart and less gourmand base notes...
The jus was composed again by the same perfumers who created the Eau de Parfum, namely Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp and Jacques Cavallier.
The fragrance opens on notes of bergamot and pink peppercorn before developing into a delicate and luminous heart of rose essence and jasmine sambac. The notes of patchouli essence and tonka bean absolute have been rebalanced to feel clearer and less edible.
I am interested in this mention of a less gourmand base because I re-tested Tendre Jasmin in the Secrets d'Essence collection by Jacques Cavallier also for Yves Rocher and it seems to me that the base notes have been lightened up, made to feel less pastry-like and regressive than the first time I tried it before its official launch even. It's great now.
