D&G debe ser algo completamente distinto a Dolce & Gabbana, y en este momento un proyecto con cinco fragancias es lo más nuevo que puede hacerse, en lugar de lanzar una esencia para mujer y otra para hombre,” declaró Gabbana en una entrevista.
“Las fragancias son completamente diferentes entre sí pero la idea central del proyecto D&G es completamente diversa: la comunicación, la imagen y la presentación,” dice Gabbana.
Dolce agregó: “El objetivo de este proyecto fue no solo o solo sacar nuevos productos al mercado sino proponer un sueño que para nosotros represente el mundo de D&G.”

Además cada esencia tiene su propia cara. Las supermodelos Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova y Naomi Campbell, y tres reconocidos modelos hombres: Fernando Fernandes, Noah Mills y Tyson Ballou, protagonizan los anuncios de la campaña retratada por Mario Testino.
