This fragrance belongs to one of the two variants launched to market in the year 2007 around Dior Homme, taking the basic ingredients of the original but changing some nuances to give two different editions: a more intense Eau de Parfum and more focused on floral characteristics iris, and this edition Cologne repeating the same note of iris feature but adds a few streaks to give a hint citrus cooler and lighter. Esta fragancia corresponde a una de las dos variantes lanzadas al mercado el año 2007 en torno a Dior Homme, tomando los ingredientes básicos del original pero cambiando algunos matices para dar dos ediciones diferentes: un Eau de Parfum más intenso y centrado en características más florales del iris, y esta edición Cologne que repite la misma nota característica de iris pero que agrega unas vetas cítricas para dar una insinuación más fresca y ligera. En el sitio oficial de Dior destacan que las notas principales del perfume son: petit grain, iris y vetiver.

En partida la fragancia muestra la misma nota dominante de iris del original, más seca que en la versión Parfum y sin llegar a expresarse como un floral, dando la idea de un intermedio entre un aroma de maquillaje, un talco seco y un poco de madera. La nota diferente ocurre a los pocos minutos donde se distingue un alimonado puntual, no tan obvio ni natural como en la versión Sport pero dando una idea breve de limones o cítricos de colonia. La sensación es secundaria y al oler y tratar de buscarla nuevamente vuelve a dominar el iris. En fase media el cítrico es más notorio al aparecer a la par con el iris e incluso aparecer los dos como una mezcla, con los tonos de iris suavizándose con el alimonado, que ahora se acerca más a la idea de una bergamota que de un limón. Esta sensación se mantiene por varias horas, principalmente la de una nota polvosa que adquiere tonos frutosos, bajando los polvosos a medida que se huele por más tiempo. En fase final aparece el vetiver como una evolución natural de las fases anteriores al reunir características de tonos de madera suave y puntos secos que se alinean con el iris todavía presente, dando una sensación de final de loción clásica mezclada con trazas de vainilla que compensan este tendencia con un dejo polvoso dulce.

Si bien el aroma no se siente exactamente como una colonia veraniega en la idea de su primo Dior Homme Sport, si se comprende como una versión suavizada del Dior Homme Eau de Toilette pensado para aquellas personas que no toleraban la evolución intensa y seca de la nota de iris hacia la madera o vainilla invernal pero que todavía quieren seguir oliendo como la fragancia original. Teniendo en cuenta este aspecto el perfume se siente más grato para un uso de diario, incluso cotidiano en solitario, de características invernales como su predecesor a nivel natural y algo más veraniego en la línea de las fragancias maderosas secas de esta época. Como aroma de oficina el iris produce menos choques y menos confusión al integrarse con los cítricos y no dar tanto la impresión de un olor a maquillaje o labial de mujer. Por el lado nocturno es más ligero, algo informal para una fiesta de matrimonio en especial por el final al vetiver, pero grato y apropiado para una cena social de corte semiformal a informal. Por el lado romántico algunas notas atractivas del original aparecen rebajadas aquí, perdiendo fuerza en este aspecto y agregando la nota de vetiver más personal y menos sensual.
