Frederic Malle has introduced a line of home fragrances

Frederic Malle launches home fragrance line
Frederic Malle has introduced a line of home fragrances - parfums pour la maison. The range includes candles, and two other products - a diffuser, and 'rubber incense'. Malle was in London yesterday to launch the line in the UK and for the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Les Senteurs.

The home fragrance collection comprises of completely new fragrances and have been created by Carlos Benaim, Sophia Grojsman and Domonique Ropion. The perfumers also used some of the work of the late Dr. Braja Mookherjee, who Malle describes 'a brilliant man'.

The three diffusion methods:

Candles

The candles are housed in a glass votive in the signature red of the Editions line. The wax is a mix of vegetal and tallow wax, and the composition of the wax is different for each fragrance. All of the fragrances are available in candle form.

Fleur Mécanique

The Fleur Mécanique is an 11cm red cube, which diffuses fragrance silently. Part of the brief behind the development of the machine was for it to be aesthetically pleasing and "capable of diffusing a completely natural odor of a bouquet of flowers on request". The machine regarges like a cell phone.

The floral fragrances (Rosa Rugosa, 1er Mai, Rubrum Lily, Un Gardénia la nuit and Jurrasic Flower) are available for the Fleur Mécanique.

Rubber Incense

The Rubber insence is described as a high-tech version of the classic lavender sachet, and is designed to be used in small spaced like a closet or a car. Scented with Saint des Saints.
