I smelled this new creation by L'Occitane en Provence this morning in store. For all of you devotees of Lauren by Ralph Lauren (like me), this is one to be checked out. It manages to capture the atmosphere of the iconic 70s-80s scent in an intimate fashion: its fruity tonality, its touch of aromatic green and the sensual and dry woods. Rose Jardin Délice (Garden Rose Delight) is the latest launch by L'Occitane, part of their rose collection which already comprises Eau des 4 Reines and Rose de Nuit (no, it's not the Lutens, my bad)...
It is particularly fresh and light even compared to the Pivoine Flora without being wimpy and short-lasting. The brand labels it as a fresh and juicy fruity-floral.
Rose Jardin Délice "combines the sunny softness of countryside roses with the delicious accents of sweet berries."
The Eau de Toilette is built around top notes of blackcurrant and lychee and a floral heart of roses from Grasse, Bulgaria, Morocco and Turkey infused with raspberries and cranberries. The deep notes are sandalwood and musk.
The introduction started to roll out in France, on time for upcoming Valentine's Day.
A 75 ml godronné bottle is priced at 37€ in Europe. A lip gloss and scent duo is available for 16,50€ as a 2011 limited edition.
For some ideas of what rose fragrance to wear on Valentine's Day (not that there is any law requiring the wearing of rose fragrances on that day, but still, it's a nice choice, which feels traditional), you can check our Rose Perfume Marathon from 2008, Smell The Roses Till Valentine's Day Challenge
